Job Description:  Reports to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences –Newark (FASN). The Dean of Student Affairs NCAS/UCN is the chief student academic affairs officer for students in the Newark College of Arts and Sciences and University College-Newark. The Associate Dean I SPVR is responsible for the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs. Responsible for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of enrollment management efforts, development and maintenance of specific areas of academic services, including placement testing, transfer evaluation, retention efforts, academic integrity facilitation, and student complaints. Oversees the administrative, budgetary, and personnel operations of the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODOSA), striving to find and implement new efficiencies that enable ODOSA to carry out its academic and enrollment management functions effectively with available resources. Works in close collaboration with the FASN Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education, faculty committees, academic department chairs, Chancellor’s Office, other Newark collegiate units, Newark Admissions Office, Student Governing Associations, and other various University student life and student services offices.
Job Requirements:  Requires a Ph.D. or advanced degree and equivalent experience. Requires excellent leadership skills, strong managerial and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be well-organized and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated highest level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality, and the ability to work autonomously and yet collaboratively. Ability to communicate effectively in individual and large group settings. Flexibility in terms of working hours and types of responsibility.
